Youth Minisitry @ The Mill

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love, and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12

It has been an honor to watch our youth grow this last year. A group of our students started out their year by going on a missions trip to serve those in need and share the Gospel of Jesus to the people of El Salvador. It was refreshing to see how God had opened their hearts and eyes to how big He truly is and how far His love goes.

Projects

From February to April Shift Student Ministries learned about human trafficking and raised over $4,000 with the help of the 8th grade class at the Edgar middle school! The money went to a district missionary, Project Rescue, to help purchase a rescue vehicle for victims of human trafficking. Our students didn’t stop there. A group of them continued reaching out with serving the hungry by packing meals with Feed My Starving Children.

Leadership & Outreach

We dove into summer with a crazy color filled party where our student leadership team, Citizens, sending their fellow students into the summer months with a devotional to help them stay Christ focused. Our fall 2016 was nothing short of amazing! Our Citizens brought Terrence Talley, school assembly speaker, to both our Stratford and Edgar schools where he was able to speak hope to our communities. Terrence teamed up with FCA and Shift Student Ministries to share the Gospel later that night.

Events

Students danced like crazy at the Fall Hoedown where there were over 70 students in attendance, how cool is our God!? With the help of one of Thrivent Financial’s Action Team our students were able to rake close to 18 yards totaling over 4,000 lbs of leaves in the Stratford community. We ended our leaf raking competition with day of fellowship, worship, and message on how to glorify our Lord.

Conclusion

Needless to say Shift Student Ministries has had a great year, ALL GLORY BE TO GOD! Our students are hungry for Jesus and are making it their mission for their friends to come to know and love Him too! I know that God has a great next year ahead for our students and I can’t wait to see what He does! Please continue to pray for our students, our leadership, and for this ministry.

With all my love,
