Day 6 - Mediator

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the manChrist Jesus.
1 Timothy 2:5

Prayer

Father God, forgive me for being an American who expects options, choices, and add-ons, as I have come to demand what I want or “get my money back.” In Your love, You have taken away options. You have made the way to You very simple. You have told any who will listen, and very clearly, that death is required for sin and that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. I have at times ignored You by choosing other “gods” that I have defined myself. When I am obstinate, I distance myself from You. Forgive me and my culture for our pride and defiance as we’ve sought ways around the truth. Your way, Jesus, is truly the only way. You are God and I am not. Empower me to become unashamed and unhindered in claiming Jesus as my mediator—the only way to You, Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
