Here are a few stories from our parishioners of what God has done in their lives in 2015.
Justyn Karlen (Hannah, Mia, Quinn)
My wife and I have finally found a church that fits us. Since coming to The Mill, we've enjoyed our experience. The people we have met have been very kind and welcoming. Pastor Zach has been great to, not only listen to, but to have conversations with before and after service.
A couple of weeks ago my wife went to church and I was home with an illness. She came home and said to me, “I hope you feel better before next weekend.” I replied, “Why is that?” She said, “Cuz we're getting baptized!” I was so excited because this is something I've been wanting to do for a couple years. Now, because of The Mill Church coming to Edgar, I'll be able to accomplish it. So in closing, I'd like to send a special thanks to the Stratford location for all their hard work in bringing this great church to Edgar.
Kristy Mishler (Jim, Evan, Alyson)
Our eyes have been opened since my husband, Jim and I, and our two children, Evan and Alyson, have walked thru the door at The Mill Church. We can now see that Jesus is there for us in all the good and the bad. I was honestly on the brink of giving up on having God in our home, and as a Christian that would have broken my heart.
My husband never really was a believer and now he accepts God and wants to be baptized. My children have a much better understanding of how they can live amazing lives through Jesus, by following God's word. Even with money issues, sickness, car trouble, and other problems we face during the week, I come to the auditorium and all is lifted—it just flows away because of the great people and the Word of God.
Although I pray all week, I am so glad to worship on Sundays. The time is refreshing—I'm ready to tackle another week. My family likes to think that the Mill Church is our new family and that with them at our side, we can conquer all bad in life. Jesus has given us a new start. We would like to thank the Stratford location for starting the Edgar location and leading us onto our path of pursuing God.
Krystle Guerrero-Schmitt (Francisco, Domenic, Gabriela)
I first found out about The Mill coming to Edgar the summer of 2015 by members of The Mill who I would see frequently. I became very interested and went on opening day to check it out. And Praise the Lord, this is just what a small town needs.
My family and I have been driving to Wausau to Church for 5 years. My husband has a job that has on call hours on weekends anywhere from 1 to 3 times a month. Those days he needs to be close to home, making many church days impossible for him to go. It was great this Christmas Eve to be together when he was on call because we had a beautiful Church option that is close to home.
After attending a few services we felt right at home, not only because the Word of God fill us with joy, but to see many familiar faces I normally see around the area, making it so much more special. The first week in January, we were getting ready for Church, my husband and I chose to go to the Mill in Edgar once again. I found out it was the Lord's will later.
I went that morning with a lot on my heart. With Acts Chapter 2 being preached The Mill Church spontaneously offered an on the spot baptism. How Awesome! I've been waiting for this for a few years and have been ready to publicly proclaim my acceptance of our Savior Jesus Christ. I knew I could sign up or choose when I would like to get baptized but felt I was held back by doing that myself.
No timing could have been better for me to show my family how obedient I am. I felt it wasn't about preparing for baptism but just doing it when your heart tells you that you have Jesus! Because it's all about Jesus Christ our Savior! Proclaiming my faith for all to see! What The Mill offered to me will be forever unforgettable. More lives will be saved and filled with the authentic Words from the Lord at The Mill. I know mine has already!
We are truly grateful for The Mill, giving us and the people around the area an option that is closer to home.
God Bless!
