From Your Pastor

2015 ended like it began - in an absolute whirlwind! As made possible by your continued generosity, I’ll share some highlights from our year, the fruit of God’s goodness through your faithfulness.

In February, we hosted our first missions trip, taking over 30 people to King’s Castlein El Lago de Coatepeque, El Salvador. The participants built protective walls around the ministry to protect its assets from gang-related and other criminal activity, provided medical care to the impoverished, and taught the gospel to hundreds of children in outlying villages via song, drama, and dance.

Over the summer, we took more than 80 children and youth to Spencer Lake camp where they had an opportunity to worship Jesus with over 600 other junior and senior highers. We also enjoyed great food and fun at our parishioners’ homes in a series of “Backyard BBQ” events and put on “Raise the Roof” for a second time, bringing Christian entertainment and activity to the heart of Stratford.

In the Fall, we launched our second location in the Village of Edgar, allowing us to reach yet another community with the Gospel. The church-school partnership seems to be a working and sustainable model, since churches need venues and schools revenue.

“My son asked for a bible for Christmas. How often do twelve year olds do that? And when he got one, he was genuinely excited. … I want to thank you, the Mill Church staff, the church, and God, Himself, for the change in my life and my families’ life. I feel like we were led to The Mill to truly experience the glory of God. And he has put you and your staff there to get us in the right place.”

Your generosity and service makes a lasting impression. Thank you all for investing in God’s work at The Mill in the last calendar year. May we continue, by His grace and under the power of His Holy Spirit, to introduce and reintroduce people to Jesus. Enjoy the rest of our report.
