Came To My Rescue: He Calls

The Scriptures

1 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me;
I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am, here I am,”
 to a nation that was not called by[a] my name.
...
24 Before they call I will answer;
while they are yet speaking I will hear.

Isaiah 65 (ESV)

On the day I called, you answered me;
my strength of soul you increased.[b]

Psalm 138:3 (ESV)

Christians are accustomed to realizing our position in relation to God. The distance between us and our Holy Deity is drastic, unless we call upon His name, and declare Him God and Savior. But also we see scripture revealing the nature of our God as one of such quality and grace that in His position of perfection, He calls to us.

The Thought

This is so comforting to a world of proof, so delightful to a worry-filled culture, and entirely freeing to those captive to a view of God as one that stands stone-faced and silent. Not only do we call to Him, but He calls to us! At that thought why would we stand silent towards Him?

The Challenge

This song encourages us to not fear God, but to call to Him that answers. As you listen and worship through this song, call to Him whose heart calls out to His Creation. Fear not, but engage entirely with your God, knowing that your address is not unwelcome, but longed for (Rev 3:20 ESV).
