What a Beautiful Name: Tissues

The Idea

In cold season it is common to lament how many tissues one needs to “soften the blow” of the common cold. We take, use and toss them never to be considered again. It is also commonplace in our culture to use the name of Jesus as often and with as little value as these tissues. Used for a moment, hastily discarded and relegated as garbage.

Speaking of Jesus, Philippians 2 says:

8And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Challenge

As you listen and praise through this song, be challenged to hold high the name of Christ.  Honor Him now with your lips and forever with your life. Don't wait until your knees knock in eternity, but boldly call on His name right now with regard for its full regal power. Praise Him today with all you are, for He is worthy now and forever more.
