November is National Adoption Month

Did you know?

Thousands of children in foster care need permanent families. Today there are more than 100,000 children and teens in foster care who are waiting for the love and security that a permanent home provides. The majority of American adoptions actually involve children adopted out of foster care. About 135,000 children are adopted in the United States each year. Of non-stepparent adoptions, about 59 percent are from the child welfare (or foster) system.

What we do at The Mill

Welcomed @ The Mill Church is currently actively supporting 3 fostering families and has a history of supporting six foster families. Three of those families have adopted their children from the foster system, one more is in hopes and anticipation of an adoption!

How can I help?

If you have a heart for foster care and want to be involved in the well-being of a foster child, consider volunteering with Welcomed @ The Mill - bring a meal, fold some laundry, or babysit a child in service to a foster family, helping them to foster stronger and helping a vulnerable child find more stability in their life. Contact Stacy Schnaare @ 715-615-2834 (cell) or stacy.leah@gmail.com for more information.

Thank you

Thank You to foster families! You are a wonderful example of selfless service to vulnerable children in foster care. We know that foster care is messy with many, often abrupt, changes and the need for supportive community is a big need. We are here for you!
