About Their Ministry

Youth for Christ Portage County Affiliate shares the love and hope of Jesus Christ with youth from across Wisconsin that enter the Portage County Juvenile Detention Center. We do this through relational programming, encouraging conversations and ongoing communication with them after they leave the detention center.

Ministry Updates

Since we last visited the Mill the ministry has grown! This March will be two years since we launched our weekly aftercare meetings called YFC Next. In the last year we have also started leading chapel on a regular basis at the detention center in addition to the two weekly visits we do there. We are hoping to add a Teen Parents component to YFC Next in the coming year.

Prayer Requests

• God would bring in more volunteers to work with the youth we serve.

• Fruitful conversations with our youth at the detention center and an ongoing hunger to know more about God.

• Pray for Z, a young mom we are currently working with, as she gets ready to have her baby in the coming weeks.
